We made it!!! I don’t know about you but 2020 was the kind of year that makes you wonder what the hell is really going on around here anyway. I am sure that someday we will look back and be grateful for the lessons that we learned and be thankful for the opportunity to correct our courses both individually and collectively. Someday. But for right now 2021 is demanding our immediate and direct attention.
Monday was the Monday-est Monday that we have had for a long time. And then there was Wednesday. A day that can only be described as being- well, there are actually no words to describe what Wednesday brought to the door. Suffice to say that this too shall pass and we will all be better people for it.
So yeah, the first week of the year was a real humdinger but in no way is it a harbinger of the year to come, in fact it is quite the opposite. 2020 was a crazy kind of year, the kind of crazy that does not go out the door willingly, what we are seeing right now is the last gasp of the year that just doesn’t know when to quit. Come the end of January we will be living in a different kind of world and we can get on with the business of actually living.
This year we have decided to trade in our New Year’s resolutions for plans for self-improvement. We are going to take better care of our mental well-being, we are going to un-plug more often (and we mean this time, totally tech free days, phones included), we are going to incrementally improve the way that we eat and the amount that we exercise. We are going to do these things not because we think that is what we are supposed to do, we are going to do them because we know now that this is a better way to live. We will feel better and stronger as a result, which will in turn give us the strength and patience to help those around us who need our help. Because if 2020 taught us anything it has taught us that we are stronger, safer and better together.
Whatever your goals are for this year be gentle and patient with yourselves as you strive to achieve them and know that you are not alone. We will all be working together to make our world a better place to be. So Happy New Year to you all and may this year bring you all health, light, love and prosperity.
